Garrett is a Freshman at Seminole State College in Sanford, Florida and is the lead trumpet for THOSE GUYS JAZZ. Garrett is studying business as he has already demonstrated entrepreneurial traits. In high school he sold sodas for an income earning him several thousands of dollars which he used to help fund the startup of THOSE GUYS. He continues that spirit of being a business owner as he is dealing successfully in the world of stocks. Garrett began his musical interest in kindergarten taking up the violin. He studied under Anna Wagner,( Orlando Symphony) and Clair Knots, (Doctoral Candidate, Florida State University).  Garrett continued his formal studies on the violin through the sixth grade. Once in Middle School he decided to take up the trumpet. He would study under Frankie Vardaros for two years. ( Frankie performed with the Maynard Fergurson Band).  Garrett then began studies under Tom Macklin, trumpet clinician for Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. Garrett then began studying under the direction of Brandon Louse in DeLand, Florida. Garrett studies from the Arbans Book and the Real Book of Improv.                                                  Garrett earned the Eagle Scout rank in 2015 with Scout Troop 306 in DeBary, Florida. His Eagle Scout project can be enjoyed when you visit Gemini Springs in DeBary, Florida. His project is three Eagle benches located on the main trail, primitive camping and the O.K. Carrol. Garrett has been on several mission trips with the youth group when in High School. Garrett visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2013. He was so impressed with the attention to detail and the discipline required to attend this military academy. Garrett thoroughly enjoys working out and staying fit. You can find him at LA Fitness on a regular basis.  Garrett enjoys traveling, swimming, baseball, the Patriots, shooting and of course Mustangs.  Garrett performed at the Lincoln Center in New York at the Duke Ellington Jazz Essentials competition in 2016 with University High School, Orange City, Florida. He received specific training from Wynton Marsalis trumpeter, composer, teacher, music educator and artistic Jazz director at the Lincoln Center in New York. Garrett skill’s have never been the same since that visit. When you have a chance to enjoy a THOSE GUYS show, you’ll have to ask Garrett about his Mustang.
